Secret City Spaces West
Hidden Parks & Gardens in the City (west)
Service Description
Discover Roman walls, ruined churches, sculpture, glimpses of Shakespeare and beautiful trees and plants hidden among the City of London's office blocks and skyscrapers. The City's opens spaces are often invisible from the busy streets until you know where to look. They offer hidden history, beauty and calm. The City has 376 open spaces tucked away, including gardens, churchyards, former churches and cemeteries, bomb sites, green spaces and paved terraces. In total, 10% of the Square Mile consists of open spaces. This walk will show you some of the best examples. The walk lasts approximately two hours. Please be prepared for all weather conditions! Start: outside Moorgate tube station, the western entrance on Moorfields (follow signposts to Exit 1) Finish: a two minute walk from Mansion House tube station "…a fantastic walking tour of secret spaces in the City of London, thanks to our fabulous tour guide."
