Fleet Street, Ludgate Hill and St Paul's Churchyard were home to the printing and publishing trades for five centuries from around 1500. Fleet Street was synonymous with the newspaper industry for three centuries. There were also once three prisons nearby. See where Britain's first daily newspaper editor published her paper. See some iconic 20th century newspaper buildings and the journalists' church, St Bride's. Discover the location of the three prisons in this area. Wander into ancient alley ways to find the home of Dr Johnson and a pub where Dickens, Johnson, Conan Doyle, Wodehouse and Twain drank.
