Geoffrey Fletcher's City of London

Historic locations portrayed by the artist in the 1960s/70s

15 British pounds
Outside Blackfriars station (Queen Victoria Street/New Bridge Street exit)

Service Description

Discover some of the City of London sites that the artist Geoffrey Fletcher captured so lovingly in the 1960s and 1970s and learn about the area's long and rich heritage. "Great walk..! I thoroughly enjoyed it." Best known for his 1962 book 'The London That Nobody Knows', Geoffrey Fletcher's sketches, paintings, books and weekly column in the Telegraph recorded the London he feared was vanishing in the decades after World War II. The City has undergone massive redevelopment since Fletcher's time, but a surprising number of the historic sites he drew or painted remain today. The walk will last a little over two hours. Please be prepared for all weathers! Start: outside Blackfriars station (on the City, ie northern, side) Finish: close to Monument station **Please note that payment must be made online before the walk and that no refunds will be given for cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled start time.** Click on the 'Book Now' button and find the next available date for this walk.
